Daily Sparkle

Neiman Marcus Christmas Book

So this bloated joke arrived in my mailbox yesterday: The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book.

It’s easy to make fun of the ridiculous, over-the-top “Fantasy Gifts” they hype every year, like this $150,000 set up for a falcon camp. Yes, a falcon camp. Because of course you have falcons and they require a camp site with a custom backgammon board.

You Don’t Even Get The Birds!

I wanted to hate everything, but secretly I loved this:

This is a hot pink Balloon Venus sculpture by Jeff Koons. It $20k, so probably not going to be in my stocking this year even if I’m really, really good.

This is still completely overpriced but in the more do-able range:

It’s a Deborah Lippmann nail polish called “Believe,” and it retails for $17. Metallic, but kind of gold and silver. I dig it.

  1. Jeff Koons is my neighbor’s brother. Maybe I could work a deal for you…if you make the nice list, that is.
