What are you doing this weekend?
I don’t have a lot planned, but I hope to get some time to finish watching Season One of “Orange Is the New Black” (I’m late to the party, I know) on Netflix, and/or finish reading this book:
I have a rule at the gym: When I am running, I can (if I want) stream Netflix and watch “Orange,” and when I cross-train on the elliptical machine, I (can) read “Cuckoo.” Both are captivating, in different ways.
[“Cuckoo’s Calling” was pseudonymously written by J.K. Rowling and even though I’m not quite done yet, it’s good. And this is coming from a person who hasn’t read a single word of “Harry Potter”).
I’m also excited that “Orange” is having a new season released in June (so I hear). The series is based on a book by the real Piper, and while it’s less salacious than the TV series, it’s also got insight and empathy into the quotidian details of prison life. Check it out.
Have a great weekend!
I have watched season 1 of OIKB but would gladly considering going through them again. Especially while on the treadmill. I shall try this and see if it keeps my mind from constantly thinking of the pain I am in and watching the clock and mileage. This is a fantastic idea.
Try it! Covering the mileage/clock screen with a towel is also helpful to trick yourself, if you are clockwatching.
