Two weeks ago when I went to California to run in a half-marathon, I spent a day at Disneyland*** and found myself wishing I had a crossbody bag to hold my stuff and keep me hands-free when I tooled about the park.
Had I been better prepared, I may have selected one of these:
This one’s too glam for a day at the amusement park, but it’s still pretty awesome:
Finally, here are my two favorites. The leather one is more laid-back whereas the nylon one basically will inspire envy in the other moms checking each other out while waiting in line for two hours to ride on “It’s a Small World.”
*** Yes. I went to Disneyland alone. My kids were at home with Spouse. Awful. I know. One of my good friends found this situation to be incredibly weird. I didn’t! I was killing time before the race. And FYI, you can get on just about any ride with barely a wait when you’re a single rider, not to mention being able to freely people watch and walk about the park without stopping every ten paces to buy a souvenir or take one of a zillion potty breaks. I recommend it. But note: It’s much easier to go to Disneyland solo as a Midwestern-y adult single female, than, say, a mustachioed middle-aged man with a windowless van.
I know I haven’t been good enough to get all of this (not by a long shot!), but here’s my dream list to find under the tree on Christmas morning.
Jonathan Adler “Vice” Canister
I love Jonathan Adler! This ceramic jar is just one of a series called “Vices,” but this is definitely the one meant for me.
Clare Vivier Flat Clutch
I also can’t get enough of Clare Vivier. This flat clutch comes in a few different star prints, but I like this navy one the best. And I still am hoping for this bright blue bag, complete with monogram:
AVF Chiclet Candy Bowl
Next up: This hot pink acrylic candy bowl from Alexandra Von Furstenberg. It comes in two sizes, but I like the smaller one better. The colors are fantastic, too! I’d secretly love to also open up an apple green one and have a pair.
Kate Spade Gloves
Aren’t these Kate Spade gloves funny?
High Fashion Rubber Stamp Set
I still like to send snail mail notes to friends and this cute stamp set would really jazz up the envelopes or the notecards themselves.
Speaking of office supplies, I always need notepads like the swirly one on the right. And really, who wouldn’t want a jumbo cupcake scented eraser?
This needlepoint pillow is also from Jonathan Adler. The same one was in the amazing bungalow that we stayed in last summer at the best hotel in the world, the Parker Palm Springs.
This book! The cover says it all.
